Originally part of Fairchild, the Ranger name was given to the aero engine division which already had a few engines to its credit. The 6-370 was a typical engine of the period, having 6 cylinders and 370 cu ins. A large inverted V12 was produced called the V-770, producing
520 bhp at 3150rpm, with geared prop and supercharging. The engine division ran down after the end of WWII.
